These paper drawings are influenced by the Persian sixteenth century illustrated manuscript, The Book Of War.
Man has always had to conduct life amidst war. Not all men fight in war yet all men must confront war and its repercussions. In contemporary society this confrontation often takes place through the media and its catalogue of war imagery.
I am interested in exploring how we deconstruct a visceral horrific image of war into our daily reality. How do our memories, knowledge and personal experience affect how we integrate this imagery ?
